Family & Community Engagement Plan
2023-24 School Year
Families have a major influence on their children’s achievement in school and throughout life. As a result of this influence, positive results with student achievement occur when schools, families, and community groups work together to support learning. Dandridge Elementary School Faculty and Administration will seek ways to maintain communication with parents. In support of strengthening student academic achievement, Dandridge Elementary School (DES) receives Title 1, Part A funds and therefore must collaboratively develop with and distribute to parents and family members of participating children a written parent and family engagement policy that contains information required by section 1116(b) and (c) of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The policy establishes the school's expectations for parent and family engagement and describes how the school will implement a number of specific parent and family engagement activities, and it is incorporated into the school's plan which is submitted to the local educational agency (LEA). Dandridge Elementary School agrees to implement the following requirements as outlined by Section 1116:
- Introduction
- Jointly Developed
- Annual Title Meeting
- Communication
- School Parent Compact
- Reservation of Funds
- Coordination of Services
- Building Capacity of School Staff
- Engagement Activities

B) families are encouraged to be actively involved in their child's education at

This is accomplished by utilizing the strengths of our counselors, ESL teacher, RTI2B Team, and families to help families in need. PLCs and other meetings are often the venue for discussions. Administration is also involved in ongoing conversations with parents, families, and school staff to help to increase student achievement and assist in other areas of life as needed.
