Jefferson Elementary School will be closed from June 8 through July 24, 2026. During this time, the building will not be accessible to employees or the general public as scheduled facility work is completed.

As is customary during the summer months, school office staff will not be available on-site or by phone.

Summer learning camps will be held at New Market Elementary School, and online registration for the 2026–2027 school year is available at jc-tn.net. Families needing assistance with registration may contact the Jefferson County Schools Central Office at 865-397-3194, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

As the start of the school year approaches, registration teams will be available in person at schools across the district to assist families.

Independent air quality testing and clearance will be conducted prior to reopening as a precaution to ensure the school is safe for students, staff, and visitors.
