Jefferson County Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Martin as assistant principal of Rush Strong School for the 2026–2027 school year. Mrs. Martin brings a strong instructional background and a deep commitment to student success, having served as a 7th grade science teacher and teacher leader at Rush Strong School since 2007. She has played a key role in supporting student achievement, mentoring teachers, and leading collaborative instructional efforts.

Mrs. Martin holds an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Instructional Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University and a Master of Arts in Education from Carson-Newman University. She brings 19 years of classroom experience, with a proven record of student growth and a focus on data-driven instruction, professional collaboration, and continuous improvement.

A strong connection to the Rush Strong School community further defines Mrs. Martin’s commitment to the school, as her husband and their children attended Rush Strong. Known for her servant leadership approach, she emphasizes collaboration, high expectations, and building strong relationships with students and staff. Mrs. Martin looks forward to this opportunity to serve Rush Strong School and to continue building positive partnerships with students, staff, families, and the community.
