Patriot Stadium Renamed Craig Kisabeth Stadium

On February 1, 2024, the Jefferson County Board of School Commissioners unanimously voted to rename the Jefferson County High School Patriot Stadium in honor of Coach Craig Kisabeth. Coach Kisabeth served as and educator in Jefferson County for 30 years, including 20 years as Head Football and Coach and 20 years as Athletic Director. Dr. Tommy Arnold presented Coach Kisabeth and the Board of School Commissioners with Resolution 2024-123 on March 7, 2024 at the Historic Jefferson County Courthouse. The boys and girls elementary basketball teams from Dandridge Elementary School were recognized during the March school board meeting.  Both teams were undefeated during the regular season and continued that streak to go on to win the tournament.  Congratulations to Coach Tiffany Harris, Coach Brent Ford, and to the talented, hardworking players!

Partners in Education Spotlight: TVA Employees Credit Union

Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union was Jefferson County Schools’ Partner Spotlight at our March school board meeting.  Kelly Rimmer and Lisa Chambers from the Jefferson City branch joined us to receive this recognition.  Knoxville TVA Employees’ Credit Union prioritizes community service for each of its employees.  Rimmer said, “We are community driven, ‘people helping people.’  We have served our communities faithfully for 90 years.” Their employees from area branches have participated in various volunteer capacities for numerous schools. Some of the activities employees have participated in include:  

• Volunteering for field days 
• Taking their snow cone and popcorn machines to schools free of charge 
• Volunteering for book fairs 
• Paying for Santa to visit schools and take pictures 
• Donating ice cream to classrooms to help celebrate end of test weeks 
• Reading to kindergarteners 
• Chaperoning school dances 
• Volunteering at PTO family fun nights 
• Selling tickets at craft fairs and donating gifts to auction off 
• Providing financial literacy for all ages 

In addition, they are passionate about taking care of teachers and school staff of our community, providing treats to schools for Teacher Appreciation Week, providing teacher luncheons, and giving donations to school sports, bands, STEM and CTE programs. They also provide $1500 each year to each area high school for a teacher grant through the Simply Smart Foundation.  They have proven to be a very involved and valuable partner for JCS!

JC Schools: Seed to Harvest

Thank you to all the wonderful teachers (Sarah Lawrence-M.M.S., Lisa Haynes-D.E.S., Vicki Bentley & Mary Collins-P.E.S., Cenia Lamb-J.E.S., and Alice Webb-S.A.C.C.) for implementing Seed to Harvest Project in their classrooms and a HUGE thank you to J.C.H.S. Senior Katelynn Finchum for creating the Seed to Harvest magazine that highlighted the Seed to Harvest Project!

Seed to Harvest Project mission is to cultivate not only plants but also knowledge, fostering a journey of continuous learning from seed to harvest in the garden. Through attentive observation, hands-on experience, and a deep-rooted regard for science and nature, we aim to nurture a space where students can explore, discover, and understand the intricate processes of growth, resilience, and sustainability.   Through each phase of cultivation, we seek to provide the right amount of nourishment that will encourage growth to produce a harvest of knowledge that will continue to nourish future generations.
