7:25 am Update: Jefferson County Schools will be closed today, Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Students arriving at schools on buses will begin returning students back home at 7:35 am. Power restoration timeframe is unknown at this time. Phones and internets remain down at most schools and support offices. 

A widespread power outage effecting Maury Middle School, Dandridge Elementary School, Jefferson County High School, and Piedmont Elementary has been reported. At this time, the reason is unidentified.

Internet and phones across the district may be down in all schools and support offices, including Central Office. School busses are already in route and will continue routes to transport students as usual. Additional decisions will be made and announced as necessary as we evaluate the outage. As always, student safety is our primary focus.
