New Teacher Orientation
District Leadership Team

Welcome to the family, new teachers.

Welcome to the newest members of Jefferson County Schools family! Teachers that are new to our district received an enthusiastic welcome and a LOT of information yesterday at the annual Teacher Induction Program. This year's inductees include brand new teachers, classified employees who have recently received licensure, veteran teachers from around the country, and even some past employees that have decided that there is no place like home. Training included an introduction to district leadership and instructional coaches; the Core 4 values and policies that guide our district; 2025-2026 calendar & resources; classroom supply money; as well as state and local assessments.

District leadership and coaches provided a deeper dive into our commitment to High Quality Instructional Materials and Practices, Collaborative Planning, Classroom Management, and Educator Evaluation.

New teachers were also introduced to the many support structures in place for students, families, and educators. Additional training and support, focusing on the JCS Strategic Plan goal of Teacher Retention and Success is embedded throughout the entire school year.

Many thanks to Carol Baker and Amanda Kinsey, our dynamic Human Resources team for recruiting, onboarding, and making this day of preparation possible! We would also like to recognize the JCEA, TEA, and the Jefferson County Career and Technology Department for donating great door prizes for the Teacher Induction Program Initial training!

Once again, we would like to welcome these new shining stars to Jefferson County Schools!
